Meet Bed, Bath & Beyond’s New CEO, Mary Winston

 Mary Winston will be the first black women to lead a Fortune 500 company since Ursula Burns  was the CEO of Xerox in 2017. Regardless of the reason, the result is the Chokehold : laws and practices that treat every Black man like a thug...   In this new book , an African American former federal prosecutor shows that the system is working exactly the way it was designed to. New Book on Black Justice BANNED in Prisons

  A book  that discusses the impact of the criminal justice system on black men, has been banned by Arizona prisons. I guess First Amendment rights no longer apply in prisons.   The American Civil Liberties Union called on the Arizona Department of Corrections to rescind the ban on “ Chokehold: Policing Black Men .” The book takes a good look at law enforcement and mass incarceration as it relates to African American men.   The author, criminal law professor Paul Butler, said his publisher was notified by email in March that his book had “unauthorized content.” The notice did not specify what led to the decision but warned that some aspect of the book was “detrimental to the safe, secure, and orderly operation of the facility.”   “In order for them to ban a book, they have to show the restriction is related to a legitimate prison interest,” said Emerson Sykes, an ACLU attorney. “There’s no interest to keep inmates from learning about the criminal justi...

Trayvon Martin’s Mother to Run For Board of Commissioners

  Sybrina Fulton, Trayvon's mom, will be entering the race to join the board of Miami-Dade County commissioners.   Fulton said she would continue working to end gun violence. She will challenge Miami Gardens Mayor Oliver Gilbert for the seat that is up for grabs in 2020.   Trayvon’s parents also run a foundation and have been recognized for their work on gun reform and social justice.   Trayvon was not armed armed when he was murdered by vigilante George Zimmerman, who was later acquitted on bullshit claims of self-defense.
